The TL-SG1005 uses Green TP-Link technology, which allows to use high bandwidth networks with high energy savings. The switch automatically adjusts the current consumption required depending on the connection status and cable length.
Energy-efficient network
Traditional network switches consume a significant amount of power for the ports, even when connected devices are switched off. The TL-SG1005 automatically detects the connection status of each port, reducing the power consumption of inactive ports. Theoretically, the use of shorter cables should reduce power consumption due to less energy loss along their length. Most devices, however, regardless of the length of the cables, consume the same amount of energy. The TL-SG1005 analyzes the length of the connected cables and, based on the detected length, adjusts the energy consumption of the ports accordingly.
Plug and Play support
The switch provides a simple, seamless installation with Plug and Play. The device does not require any additional software, and the MDI/MDIX function makes it possible to use crossover cables. Automatic connection negotiation detects the speed of the connected device on each port, guaranteeing the best transmission performance.
